From draft to published

One place to get your post ready.

  1. Import and prepare.

Choose your original video from your iPhone. Preview it in its own proportions, add a title and captions, and save your draft for later. Edits are saved as you go.

  2. Review each platform.

Choose your destinations. Share a caption or tailor it for each audience, check visibility and posting options, then confirm your crosspost.

  3. Follow the result.

Activity shows each destination’s progress. If one platform fails, re-upload the original from this phone and retry only that destination. Successful destinations are not posted again.

Connect accounts through the platforms’ own authorization screens. Instagram publishing requires a Business or Creator account. Access also depends on platform approval, account eligibility and available permissions.

Your settings, remembered

Start with the choices you use most.

Defaults for new drafts

Save your usual destination platforms in Settings. For YouTube, choose a default of private, unlisted or public, along with audience and AI disclosure settings. Existing drafts keep their own choices.

Control over TikTok posts

Save preferences for comments, Duet and Stitch, then explicitly apply them when preparing a post. Choose visibility for each video from the options your TikTok account permits, and confirm the required music and content declarations before publishing.

A clear view of your work

Studio brings you back to your latest draft and activity. Drafts keep unfinished posts together, while Activity tracks the result for each platform. The app supports light and dark appearances and larger text.

Make the first frame count

A cover that fits your story.

Choose a frame from your video or a photo from your iPhone. Add editable text with Classic, Bold, Outline, Highlight and Typewriter styles, then adjust colours, size and position. Start with one shared design or customize it for Instagram and YouTube.

TikTok’s video API uses a frame from the video, without separate cover images or cover text. YouTube custom covers depend on channel eligibility and platform acceptance. If YouTube publishes the video but rejects its thumbnail, retry the thumbnail from Activity without creating another post.

Built for publishing

A temporary relay.
Your originals stay with you.

The server holds an unencrypted temporary video and cover while the current attempt runs, then deletes them whether it succeeds or fails. A shared file stays while another selected destination still needs it. Active transfers have a two-hour limit; unused uploads expire after 15 minutes.

Failed drafts stay on this phone for re-uploading. Once every video and cover destination succeeds, the app removes its imported working copy during the next synchronization. Your Photos originals and published posts are unaffected.

Specific legal preservation holds and operational delays can affect cleanup. Illegal use is prohibited. Read our rules or report a concern without sending media. Publishing history is kept separately. Read the retention policy.

Plans & usage

A plan for your publishing pace.

One video submitted to any number of selected platforms counts as one crosspost. Retrying a destination within that post is included.

A few useful details.

Does Xpostr post without my confirmation?

You choose the accounts, content and posting settings, then confirm in the app. The server handles the upload and publishing work after submission. Xpostr currently focuses on publishing now; scheduled posting is not included.

What if only some platforms succeed?

Retry the affected destination from Activity using the original saved on this phone. Media retries re-upload it and follow the two-minute upload limit; they do not use another crosspost. Successful destinations are not posted again. Status-only checks need no upload. Check uncertain outcomes before submitting again. Keep the local draft until retries finish.

When does a crosspost use my allowance?

One post is reserved when the server accepts your publishing job, even if a platform later fails. Retries within that job don’t use another post. A rejected submission uses none; submitting a new job counts again.

Which videos and accounts can I use?

Import an original MP4 or MOV up to 500 MB and review the requirements shown in the app. For YouTube Shorts, Xpostr accepts square or vertical videos up to three minutes. TikTok options and duration depend on the connected account. Each user can start one upload every two minutes, including failed or cancelled attempts. Each platform ultimately controls processing, visibility and publication.

Are my drafts shared across devices?

Drafts, imported working copies and saved platform defaults stay on the iPhone where you created them. When Apple subscriptions are enabled, your verified App Store identity links purchases and usage across installations; it does not provide cloud draft storage.

Instagram first. More audiences alongside it.

Xpostr is an independent app by Rewrite in Denmark. We’re starting with Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, with more platforms planned. Xpostr is not affiliated with or endorsed by those platforms.
