Xpostr · Using the service
Terms of Service
Effective and last updated: 20 October 2026
These terms cover the Xpostr iPhone app, publishing service and website, operated by Rewrite, CVR 43102990, Denmark (“Rewrite”, “we”, “us”). Contact contact@xpostr.dk for support or questions about these terms.
1. Using Xpostr
By using Xpostr, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. You must be at least 18 and have authority to use any account or act for any business you connect.
Keep your device and connected accounts secure. Do not use Xpostr for unlawful content, infringement, spam, impersonation, unauthorized access, or attempts to bypass platform restrictions, posting allowances or service security.
Illegal use, reporting and restrictions
Our Acceptable Use & Reporting policy forms part of these terms. It prohibits illegal material and conduct, explains our text-only reporting process, human review, restrictions, reasons and requests for reconsideration. You are responsible for the content and instructions you submit. This does not remove Rewrite’s own statutory duties or transfer liability that law places on us.
Report suspected illegal use through our reporting form or contact@xpostr.dk. Do not send suspected illegal media. We may restrict content or accounts and cooperate with competent authorities on a lawful basis. A report is not automatically treated as proof of wrongdoing.
2. Publishing, drafts and saved defaults
Xpostr lets you import an original video, prepare a title and captions, select destinations, review posting options and confirm a publishing job. The backend then sends it to the selected connected platforms through their official APIs and tracks the outcome for each destination. Xpostr currently supports publishing now, rather than scheduled posting. It does not guarantee simultaneous publication.
You are responsible for reviewing the video, captions, account selection, visibility, audience, music rights and other declarations before confirmation. A saved default is a starting choice, not permission to publish without confirmation. Defaults apply to new drafts; existing drafts retain their choices. TikTok visibility is selected per post, and applying saved interaction preferences requires your action and remains subject to that account’s restrictions.
Drafts, imported working copies and preferences are stored on the device. They are not a cloud backup or shared draft library. Background uploads and recovery depend on device and network conditions. Once a publishing job is accepted by the server, processing can continue there independently of the app.
Thumbnail designs
You can select a video frame or photo, crop it, and add editable text. Shared designs can have Instagram and YouTube variations. Instagram receives a cover image or frame selection; TikTok receives a video-frame timestamp and does not receive separate cover images or cover-only text through its video API. YouTube custom thumbnail application depends on channel permissions and platform support. We display thumbnail failures separately where possible; retrying a thumbnail does not create a new publishing job or use another crosspost. Platforms control cropping, display and acceptance.
Thumbnail images and text are subject to the same rights, consent and acceptable-use requirements as your video. Cover uploads associated with the same video do not use an additional two-minute upload slot. Thumbnail working assets are deleted with the associated server video, subject to the same attempt-end cleanup and preservation exceptions.
3. Your content and permissions
You retain ownership of your content. You grant Rewrite limited, non-exclusive permission to store, copy, transmit and process it as needed to provide Xpostr and carry out your instructions. You must hold the rights and permissions needed for the video, music, caption, likenesses and other material on every selected platform.
Confirming a music or branded-content declaration does not grant a music licence or rights to use someone else’s work. Permission to use audio on one platform does not necessarily cover another. You remain responsible for accurate audience, commercial-content and AI disclosures.
4. Connected platforms
Instagram, TikTok and YouTube are separate services, and their terms, account requirements and policies apply. Xpostr is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube.
Instagram API publishing requires an eligible Business or Creator account. TikTok visibility, interactions and duration depend on the connected account. Xpostr accepts square or vertical videos up to three minutes for its YouTube Shorts flow; YouTube determines their treatment on its service. Platform reviews, permissions, quotas, outages and processing can affect availability or result in rejected or restricted posts.
Xpostr uses YouTube API Services. By using its YouTube features, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. See also the Instagram Terms of Use and TikTok legal terms.
You can disconnect accounts in Xpostr or revoke access at the platform. Disconnecting cannot reliably cancel an upload already accepted by a platform. Manage and delete published posts through that platform.
5. Plans, allowances and Apple subscriptions
| Plan | Allowance | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 2 crossposts per UTC calendar month | $0 |
| Plus | 8 crossposts per Apple monthly billing period | Intended US base price: $5 USD/month |
| Unlimited | No monthly crosspost count limit | Intended US base price: $10 USD/month |
Paid plans become available only after the required setup and approvals. Apple shows the actual localized price, applicable taxes and purchase terms before you confirm a purchase. These terms alone do not authorize a charge. A development or legacy preview may operate without these allowances being enforced; that does not grant unlimited free access after launch.
One accepted job is one crosspost. Sending one video to one or more selected destinations reserves one post when the server accepts the job. That reservation remains if a platform later fails. Retrying a destination within that job never uses another post. Rejected submissions do not use an allowance, and a repeated request for the same accepted job does not count again. Submitting a separate job counts as another crosspost.
Free resets at the beginning of each calendar month in UTC. Plus resets with Apple’s monthly billing period. Unused posts do not roll over, and paid plans replace rather than add to the free allowance. An eligible billing grace period retains the existing Plus period rather than issuing another eight posts. When paid access ends, Free applies, counting accepted crossposts already made during that calendar month.
Apple handles payment, purchase restoration, subscription changes and renewal through your App Store account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple’s subscription controls. You can restore purchases or open subscription management from Plans & Usage in Xpostr. Access normally continues through the paid period or grace period confirmed by Apple. Upgrade and downgrade timing follows Apple’s rules. Refunds and revocations may end paid access; request purchase refunds through Apple, without limiting your mandatory consumer rights.
The server verifies purchases and allowances. Where Apple billing is enabled, changing devices or reinstalling does not create a new allowance for the same verified App Store app-purchase identity. This link does not synchronize local drafts. Unlimited removes the monthly post-count ceiling; platform limits, permitted use, file requirements, network availability and service rate limits still apply.
Upload frequency: each user can start one video upload every two minutes. Failed or cancelled uploads still use that interval. Other users have separate limits. Retries that need media require a fresh upload from this phone and use the same interval. Status-only checks need no upload. Retries within the existing job do not use another crosspost.
6. Automatic file cleanup and destination retries
Xpostr acts as a temporary relay. New video and cover working copies are not encrypted at rest and can be read by administrators with storage access. Connections use HTTPS; platform tokens and private service records retain their separate protection. We keep a temporary copy because platforms may fetch it asynchronously. We do not offer server-side storage for later retries.
After all selected destinations finish a publishing attempt, whether successful, failed or uncertain, the server removes that attempt’s video and covers during cleanup. A shared working copy remains while another selected destination still needs it. Active transfers have a two-hour limit from upload; unused uploads expire after 15 minutes. Request failures trigger cleanup, and interrupted crash leftovers are swept after 15 minutes. Worker outages or deletion failures may delay cleanup. Your Photos originals and published posts are unaffected.
The app keeps a failed or uncertain draft’s original and cover assets on this phone for retries until you delete that draft or remove the app. A retry needing media re-uploads the same original and required cover, then retries only the affected destination. A thumbnail-only retry updates the existing video. Status-only checks do not create another post. If a platform may have accepted an upload, check its outcome before another submission. When all video and cover destinations succeed, the app removes its imported working copy during the next synchronization. Keep your own originals; this is not cloud backup or cross-device recovery.
A retry targets the affected destination; successful destinations are not repeated. If a platform may have accepted an upload, Xpostr checks or resumes it where possible. Some uncertain outcomes require checking that platform manually before creating a new post. If the local original is no longer available, automatic retry may be unavailable. Check the platform before importing a new video as a new job, which uses another crosspost.
Specific preservation exception: ordinary cleanup may be suspended for a particular file where a documented legal or safety basis requires or justifies preservation. That file is blocked from publishing and new download requests. Each hold has a review date; normal cleanup resumes after all applicable holds are released. We retain only what remains necessary and review the basis. See the reporting policy.
Keep your own copies: Xpostr is a publishing service, not a video archive. Working-file cleanup does not remove publishing history, connected-account credentials, subscription/usage records or pre-existing backups. See the Privacy Policy for the separate retention of those records.
7. Availability and responsibility
Preview features may change or be unavailable. We aim to provide a useful, reliable service, but cannot guarantee successful posting to every platform. We may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, security, abuse, legal requirements or changes to platform access.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect losses or losses caused by third-party platform outages, rejected submissions or matters outside our reasonable control. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including fraud or intentional misconduct, or limits your mandatory consumer rights.
8. Ending use and privacy requests
You may stop using Xpostr at any time, delete local drafts and disconnect accounts. Cancel an active Apple subscription through Apple; deleting the app, disconnecting an account or requesting deletion from Rewrite does not itself cancel it.
Video cleanup is automatic. For requests concerning other server-held personal data, contact contact@xpostr.dk. The Privacy Policy explains your rights and how we handle these requests.
9. Changes, governing law and contact
We publish updated terms and their effective date at this URL. We provide notice of material changes before they take effect where required. These terms are governed by Danish law, subject to mandatory consumer protections and court rights in your country of residence.
